O&W Day at the Mamakating Depot
The Ontario & Western Railway Historical Society, Inc. will be holding it's second "O&W Day at the Mamakating Depot" on Sunday, April 24, 2005 between 9 & 5 at the former NYO&W Railway Depot at 1 VFW Road, in Mamakating, NY.
Presentations so far include a PowerPoint show by Doug Barberio highlighting the area. Many of Doug's photos are rare and have never been seen before.
Robert Mohowski will give an in depth look at the FT diesel locomotive and how it operated. He'll also touch on the psychological impact of road diesels on the rail industry and railroaders. This will probably be in slides.
Also included will be NYO&W Black and White Archival Film Footage on DVD, shown on a big screen
Events will include another hike to the north portal of the Highview Tunnel.
We may also include a bike ride to the St. Nicholas Zinc mine and nearby D&H canal. This will be dependent on how many people bring their bikes.
Sales tables will be allowed again this year but will be limited to ONE table per group or individual, except for the O&WRHS. This will be on a first come first serve basis.

Admission is free as it was last year but we will be asking for donations to the VFW for allowing us to have this event.
