- St. Johnsbury Country Club
- Route 5 Memorial Drive
- St. Johnsbury, VT
05819
- 802-748-9894
- A Rich History Golf began in St. Johnsbury in 1923 when
Willie Park, Jr., two-time winner of the British Open designed nine diverse,
interesting and singular golf holes for the newly formed club. It would be the
last of Park’s 60 North American designs due to his ailing health. The
Installation of the greens was completed by his brother Mungo. A Glorious
Future In 1992 famed architect Geoffrey Cornish, aided by lifelong member Jim
Havers, cradled the original nine in the embrace of nine peripheral holes.
While the older holes require finesse, the new nine demand power. Bring your
best up-and-down skills to par the outward half, display placement and clear
thinking on the way home.

uneven lies. The fairways are narrow with no trees to worry about. There are no
water hazards, but sand bunkers come into play on every hole. The greens are
small, undulating and fast.
- Cedar Knoll Country Club
- 13025 Highway 116
- Hinesburg, VT 05461
- 802-482-4764
- This facility expanded to twenty-seven holes in 1998, giving
it three nine hole courses that are played in three eighteen hole combinations.
The new nine hole South Course is wide open like the original eighteen holes,
however, this course criss-crosses through a valley. There is a smattering of
trees throughout the layout. The greens are medium-sized with mild undulation.
The original eighteen holes consist of the West and North courses. This is a
somewhat open course because the trees are young. However, shot accuracy is
still important because there is a defined cut of rough bordering all the
fairways. The course was built on hilly terrain and features many scenic views
of the Green and Adirondack Mountain Ranges. Tee times are only reserved for
the weekends and holidays.
