Posted by: Terry (Boone) Boyle (boylepipes@metrocast.net) 06/05/2003 21:30 Well I thought I would add a little of my thoughts of Westerlo, living there in my younger life, and the farm we own, just 1 mile north of town.

The Boone Family bought this farm back in 1967. My dad, Charlie ( who passed away June 2000) and my brother, Gerry Boone who owns and keeps this beautiful place up and going, have Charolais (beef cattle) and Percheron Draft Horses.. Ride by on county Rt. 143, stop and look and breathe some (sometimes) fresh air!!

Westerlo is a small hamlet, with a center 4 corner, offering a Bank, now with a ATM (yeah), great Deli, Post Office, and convenience store with 1 gas station! Hannay Hose Reel, world wild reel hoses offers the employment of many of the locals and surrounding townfolks a great work envirnment to enjoy living on the hill!

15 minutes drive is Greenville, offering a bit larger town to do business and shop! Westerlo offers the community a large park for recreation of ball games, covered pavilion for gatherings and ice skating in the winter. Of course the Fire Dept. puts on a good breakfast if your hungry.

Westerlo offers 2 churches in town, the larger one being the Baptist Church in town. It is easy to find and keep neighbors in town, just drive by, and you'll be on the list of "what happened in town today"!!

Enjoyed this, and hope that anyone who reads this, will take a drive, look around, and maybe you'll be the "new neighboors down the road!! I now live in Portsmouth,NH. While I can enjoy the seacoast, the drive home to see my Mom, who still lives on her "Golden Acres Farm", is worth the tirp!
