- George's incomprehensible passion for beer began when
he was a college
student. Bored with the insipid swill so ubiquitous on American
campuses, he sought out beers with flavor. The import aisle at the
local beer purveyor offered a lot of dusty, old bottles, but amongst
the flotsam and jetsam a few gems were found. Two beers in particular,
Spaten's Doppelbock and EKU's famous "28" were favorites. It's their
fault George became a brewer!

- In October of 1997, not far from the birthplace of
baseball, ground was broken for what was to become America's most
unique microbrewery. Based on traditional Belgian farmhouse
architecture and set on a former hop farm in upstate New York, Brewery
Ommegang was born with the philosophy that truly unique ales must be
built from the ground up. Now brewing five award-winning Belgian-style
ales and offering daily tours and tastings, plus a full calendar of
special events, Brewery Ommegang is the place where brewing is an art
and partaking is a passion.

Falls, NY 12801

- On October 14, 1996, Davidson Brothers Restaurant
& Brewery opened to the public. I had always thought that after
everything it took to get the thing off the ground, I'd be overcome
with emotion when that first dollar crossed the bar. But I was too
busy. We used that first dollar to buy more barley. I've been busy ever
since.
