Designed by James Michaels, the Colonial Acres golf course opened in 1965. Kim Brown manages the course as the General Manager.

The 7,009 yard, par 72 course with a 131 slope rating, places a strong emphasis on playability.
The head professional, Frank Mellet, is simply the best club professional in the game. Frank and his pro-shop staff assures all members’ needs, from lessons to tee times, are readily met.

There are water hazards that come into play on thirteen holes. Caddies are mandatory if you choose to walk the course. During the 2000 season, the Hanah International Golf School will be offering free instruction.

Shephard Hills Golf: Golf Course Road; Roxbury; 607-326-7121; Shepherd Hills was originally part of the estate of Helen Gould Shepard, daughter of railroad magnate Jay Gould, a Roxbury native son. She purchased the property which included Kirkside Lake, the facility that supplied ice for the village in the winter months and recreation for the community in the summer. Construction of the 9 hole facility began around 1916 and upon completion served as an estate golf course which included a stone cottage for the Shepard's summer visitors.

Sidney golf course opened in 1926. Jerry Birdsall manages the course as the General Manager.

Open April through October; daily during daylight hours. The northern Catskill Mountains provide the setting for the venerable Stamford Golf Club. Historic Mt. Utsayantha dominates the surrounding heights, with the trails of the adjacent Scotch Valley Ski Area visible in the distance. The views are sweeping and spectacular as the beauty of the countryside unfolds in all its glory with each season. The course is appealing to both experts and high handicappers alike. These changes bring a bit of a new look to the oldest course in Sullivan County.

The course rating is 64 and it has a slope rating of 106. Designed by Carroll Munson, the Woodhaven golf course opened in 1968. Jim Mix manages the course as the Owner.

Dutchess County

Beekman Country Club: 11 Country Club Road; Hopewell Junction; 845-226-7700; Highland Nine:Our Highland Nine starts from the clubhouse and climbs gradually to elevation of 510 feet with spectacular views over the Hudson Valley to Stormville Mountain. This nine is the most picturesque and includes our signature par 3 fourth hole which is a breathtaking hole. Many of the fairways are lined with dogwood trees that are white clouds of blossoms in the Spring.

Valley Nine: The Valley Nine is also picturesque but does not climb to the elevation of the Highland Nine. This nine travels through rolling terrain with one of the largest oak trees in the nation guarding the sixth hole. The third and ninth holes are water holes and the breathtaking view from the seventh tee alone is worth playing this nine.

Taconic Nine: The Taconic Nine is the most challenging of our three nines. The fairways are a little narrow and the par 5, sixth hole with water in front of the green is a very exciting golf hole. The layout requires more precise shot making but its views and vistas are as lovely as the other two nines.

Casperkill's public golf course, built in 1944, was designed by the legendary Robert Trent Jones Sr. Play here amidst tranquil ponds, magnificent ancient oaks and the meandering Casperkill Creek. The course graciously makes use of the rolling hills with elevated tees, manicured valley fairways and well-bunkered, terraced greens that make each round a new challenge.

Dinsmore Golf Course: Route 9, Staatsburg; 845-889-4071; This scenic 18-hole course offers a panoramic view of the beautiful Hudson River and majestic Catskill Mountains. It is the third oldest golf course in the country. Built as a private 9-hole course in the 1890s, it was an amenity to the estates of the Dinsmore, Hoyt and Mills families. The land was donated by Helen Hull. The original course, which is now the south nine, was expanded to 18 holes in 1962.

James Baird State Park Golf Course: Off Taconic State Parkway, 1 mile north of Rt. 55; Pleasant Valley, NY; 845-473-1052; James Baird State Park is situated on farmland once owned by James Baird, a contractor and engineer whose firm constructed the Lincoln Memorial. In 1939 James Baird donated the 590 acres of land to New York State under the stipulation that it be known as James Baird State Park. Work began on the park and golf course in 1940. Construction continued intermittently during World War II and the golf course was officially opened in 1948. Nationally renowned golf architect, Robert Trent Jones designed a scenic, fairly flat 18-hole golf course on this large tract of farmland in Pleasant Valley. To golfers' delight, the par 5, 13th hole is one of the most challenging in the Hudson Valley. In addition to the golf course, the park now also boasts a driving range, pro shop, clubhouse and a snack bar at the 1st and 10th holes. A full service restaurant overlooks the golf course and is open to both golfers and the general public.

The Red Hook Golf Club is an 18 hole semi-private facility which presents a challenging test for golfers of all levels. The course has been used as a qualifying site for golfers aspiring to the Dutchess County Amateur Championship. As evaluated in 2006 by the Metropolitan Golf Association, the course plays to the following ratings:
    * Blue Tees: slope 135; 6519 yards; 71.9
    * White Tees: slope 132; 6134 yards; 70.1
    * Red Tees: slope 120; 5155 yards, 70.7
    * Gold Tees: slope 122/116; 5244 yards; 71.2/68.7

Thomas Carvel Country Club: Ferris Road, (off the Taconic Parkway); Pine Plains; 518-398-7101 Thomas Carvel Country Club is an 18-hole regulation length golf course in Pine Plains, New York. This championship layout has 3 sets of teeboxes for a fun, but challenging golfing experience. Online tee times may be available at Thomas Carvel Country Club or at nearby golf courses, usually offered at a discount from the normal rate.

Silo Ridge Country Club: RR 22; Amenia, NY 12501; (845) 373-9200; Twenty-year-old Silo Ridge Country Club is, even by the demanding standards of Hudson Valley golf courses, a spectacular place to play golf. Cut into a hillside in the Valley's northeastern section, it offers views both north and south of wooded, rolling hills, fading from green to soft-edged blues as they roll away. Silo Ridge will NOT be booking Banquets, Weddings or Outings for 2008. We will re-open in early spring for our 2008 Golf & Dining Season. Please keep an eye on our website for updates. A second 9 holes were added in 1999. It is by far one of the most outstanding 18 hole, par 72 championship courses in the Northeast. Designed by Hal Purdy and built in 1969, Rondout Golf Club is a challenging 18-hole layout featuring tough greens and plenty of water hazzards.Fairway grass is fescue and various rye mix with over-seeded poa annua/bent grass greens. Several elevation changes add to both the charm and difficulty, yet do not seriously impede the golfer who prefers to walk.Local players will be quick to tell you when you play Rondout Golf Club, "Don't miss left", and it's a good rule of thumb. Keep this in mind when you visit, and we'll keep an eye out for you.

The course rating is 69.1 and it has a slope rating of 122. Shawangunk golf course opened in 1918. Chris Carr manages the course as the Golf Professional.

Stone Dock features a par 4 fourth hole that crosses a ravine on a downhill slope to a green with the Rondout Creek as a challenging backdrop.

Woodstock Golf Club: Rt 375 & Rt 212; Woodstock, NY 12498; 845-679-2914; More than seven decades have passed since the Woodstock Country Club opened in the spring of 1929. Some things have changed over the years, including the club's middle name. The founders short- lived vision of an 18 hole course, tennis courts, and posh clubhouse succumbed to the Depression, and "Golf" replaced "Country", thus Woodstock Golf Club. Other things haven't changed.
The course's nine holes today make the same roughly circular, counter clockwise sweep, with a back and forth jog in the middle.The course is bounded by Route 375 (known in '29 as the Kingston Road), Birch Lane, the Sawkill Creek, and Route 212. The course measures 5,511 yards for 18 holes. In 2001, at age seventy- one, the club remains a mix of change and status. The course continues to evolve year by year- a new bunker here, a new tee there- but the founders would undoubtedly recognise and approve of the club and the course they brought into being. Now, as then, a round of golf at Woodstock starts with a walk across the Sawkill Creek, and no matter what happens in between, there are far worse ways to spend the day.

This undertaking was commenced by a group of friends from Harrison Country Club who were later joined by members of other non-equity local clubs. Brae Burn was the name that won a contest among members. The original name, Purchase Hills, was abandoned because of its similarity to another club in the area.

(914) 276-1000; This club has a regulation eighteen hole course, plus a regulation nine hole course. The East Hill Course provides the golfer with a variety of golf situations. Some holes are tricky because of the careful placements of the hazards. Water hazards (ponds) come into play on four holes. There are plenty of sand bunkers on this hilly course, and all the greens and tee boxes are elevated. The West Hill Course does not have any parallel holes. This course is more hilly and narrower than the average course. The greens are very undulating and fast. The course has sand bunkers around the greens and on the fairways.
