Albany
CountyOct 3, 2011 Four Albany hospitals have merged, creating the Capital District's largest health care system.
The
merger of St. Peter's, St. Mary's, Albany Memorial and Samaritan
hospitals became official on Saturday. Company officials are holding a
news conference at noon Monday at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany to
discuss the merger.
The deal involves three separate companies:
Northeast Health, St. Peter's Health and Seton Health. Seton Health
owns St. Mary's in Troy, while Northeast Health owns Albany Memorial
and Samaritan in Troy. Together, they're now known as St. Peter's
Health Partners.
The merger creates a health operation that
employs nearly 12,000 people at more than 125 locations, making the
company the largest private employer in the Albany area. Daily Freeman

New York State Hospital Profiles
Use this site to find information about hospitals in New
York State, and
the quality of care they provide. Please be mindful that while we
believe these quality measures are among the most reliable, measuring
quality is difficult because of the variation among hospitals in the
complexity of patients that they treat. You are encouraged to use this
information to begin conversations with your doctor, hospital
representatives, or other health care professionals about your
condition
and available treatment options, as well as with family members,
friends, and associates who may have direct experience with a
particular
hospital.
