Huguenot Street, New Paltz.: Nat'l Historic Landmark District. Collection of house museums built between 1692 and 1890 with heirloom and period furniture. Included are six stone houses built by Huguenot settlers 1692-1712, the French Church and burying ground, a library, museum, gift shop and picnic facilities. Adjacent is Huguenot Trail and Wildlife Sanctuary. Guided tours starting at the DuBois Fort on the hour. Group and school tours also available. Open April 30-October 31, Tue.-Sun., 10-4. Locust Lawn, Gardiner: 1814 federal mansion, home of Col. Josiah Hasbrouck, lieutenant in Revolutionary War, Congressman during terms of Adams and Jefferson. Also Terwilliger House (1738) early Hudson Valley vernacular architecture with family cemetery. Open mid-August to October 31, weekends, 10-4. Group tours may be arranged all year.
