"Women of Today!"
Women of today, we must unite
To continue this never-ending fight.
The family unit is so far gone,
Sometimes it’s hard to decide what’s
Right from what’s wrong.
The family units are broken down,
The heartaches they – are all around.
Due to broken families and tragedies
The loss of loved ones, which brings us
To our knees.
We must teach our children
And those left here that with
Constant love there is no fear.
The children they must be taught
Right from wrong
And they must know that Mom is strong.
She is the grounding force
For all to see,
She is the tie that binds, both you and me.
We must teach our children to be righteous and
True – And remember now, that depends on you.
Your words and actions are all that is seen.
Will you show your children, nightmares or dreams?
Your children’s futures are in your hands.
Be sure they understand life’s demands.
To love and honor, and have faith in God.
To be strong, and stand up against the odds.
Their future is in your hands you see,
Wake up ladies and listen to me.
Embrace your children and show them love,
And teach them about our Lord above.
For in good times and bad, we all must have
A belief to fall back on when times get bad.
These times they are a changing so,
Our children don’t know which way to go.
Between drugs, and drinking and evilness
Our children have a tendency to fall into the abyss.
Hold them close – and show them too, that they can
Really depend on you.
Their Mother’s love is the strongest thing,
Do not question your own sincerity.
With all the losses we have endured.
Our family’s future is for us to secure.
Teach your children all you can.
So, they can carry out life’s plan.
For in return you will see-
For as their Mother, you hold the key.
The key to the future, and the past.
Life, it seems to move so fast.
Our children are our future – see
They are a reflection of you and me.
Embrace your children and let them fly
Don’t let your emotions override
The present pain and sorrow you feel,
For this will only teach them fear.
Go beyond and do what’s right
And never give up the never-ending fight.
