Poems by Moira Joyce
"Held Tightly In Your Arms"Held tightly in your arms on top of the world. My eyes were closed, but I could feel and see the power that lay in front of me like an inner world newly discovered. Energy passing from one to the other in loving embraces of limitless passion that matched the unfolding world below us. The wind blew around us, like a comforter that was warm and snug. Making me feel safe, even on a 1,000 foot drop. But I always feel safe, held tightly in your arms. You supported my weight, like the center of a whirling top, the world swirling around us, but all we felt was the joy, a rushing river, that passed from lover to lover. You supported my weight, like the center of a whirling top, the world swirling around us, but all we felt was the joy, a rushing river, that passed from lover to lover. Held tightly in your arms on the top of the world. What a wonderful place to be.
by Moira Joyce "Pleasure"When pleasure opens the door to pain, the feelings come rushing out in a flood of sorrow. Tears of pain are initiated by a rush of joy, which softens it, and makes it so much easier to let it go. The joy that I feel soars to such heights that I feel safe enough to open that door, to release the flood, which makes room for so much more joy. In that blessed state of safe-ness I am innocent and free. My tears wash me clean, releasing me from the sorrow that was hidden in secret corners, corners that are even secret to me. In that unsuspecting place where pleasure releases pain, my tears are a lens which allows me to see a vision of a place where joy releases sorrow and sets me free.
