- Bear Mountain State Park is situated in rugged
mountains rising from the west bank of the Hudson River. The historic
Bear Mountain Inn overlooks Hessian Lake and provides fine food and
overnight accommodations. The park features a large play field, shaded
picnic groves, a dock on the Hudson for mooring small craft, lake and
river fishing access, a swimming pool, a zoo and nature, hiking, biking
and cross-country ski trails, and ski-jumps. An outdoor rink is open to
ice skaters from late October through mid-March. The Perkins Memorial
Tower atop Bear Mountain affords spectacular views of the park, the
Hudson Highlands and Harriman State Park.

located in the Catskill Mountain range near Woodstock and Kingston New
York and is designed specifically for snowboarders, beginner skiers and
snow tubers. Our ski shop is fully equipped to suit your snowboarding,
skiing and tubing needs and our ski and snowboard instructors are ready
to help you learn. Our terrain park is undergoing major improvements to
keep the freestyle boarders, skiers, and ski boarders challenged. Our

a local resident, Glenn Godsey. According to The Journal News, Godsey

Cockaigne Ski Area
Cockaigne Ski Area is a family ski area located in western New York’s
snow belt. Located 18 miles from Lake Erie with a base elevation 1100
feet higher than the lake, Cockaigne receives an average 275 inches of
snowfall. Cockaigne combination of slopes (300 feet wide) and New
England style trails (15 feet wide) combined with longest run of 3600
feet provide abundant snow time for the whole family. This western New
York family ski area is blessed with an average of 275 inches of

50th Anniversary Events are scheduled throughout the 2007-08 season to

Whiteface
If skiing is your passion, Whiteface is your choice in New York State.
Operated by the New York Olympic Regional Development Authority,
Whiteface has the highest vertical drop in the East--3,430 feet. Don't
worry, though--there is plenty of terrain for less experienced skiers,
too. Maybe the only true double-black diamond area in the east, the
Slides at Whiteface can be great fun when the snow is bountiful. But
always remember…they are double-black diamond for a reason. You must be

Oak Hill Farms, Esperance, NY
Oak Hill Farms offers 30km of groomed, track-set trails on 500 acres of
land in western Schenectady County. Trails wind through woods,
orchards, and open fields, giving the skier a variety of terrain and
beautiful panoramic views. Trails are rated from beginner to expert.
Oak Hill Farms has a warming lodge with a fireplace, and a snack bar
featuring soup, chili, hot dogs and a variety of hot and cold
beverages. Rentals are available in a wide range of sizes. Lessons are
given on Saturdays and Sundays at 11 am and 1:30 pm by appointment.

Mountain Trails is environmentally compatible with the Catskill
Mountains. We offer 35 kilometers of quiet nature trails on 300 acres
that are groomed, track-set, and marked to their degree of difficulty.
All of our trails are patrolled by the National Ski Patrol. We carry
all the necessities for your skiing enjoyment and we rent the equipment
that we sell so you can try it before you buy it. Our Sales and Rental

Lodging is available at nearby Bed and Breakfasts, cozy Country Inns,
and Hotels. The area has many fine restaurants and an exciting
